Source: Register-Pajaronian.comAn 18-year-old Watsonville woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a victim multiple times at a party.
According to Watsonville police, Lesley Garcia stabbed a 17-year-old girl more than 12 times in the lower torso and groin at a May 30 house party on the 300 block of Herman Avenue.
About 12:30 a.m., two girls from separate groups got into a fist fight inside the home. Garcia and her friends were kicked out of the house, but remained outside until partygoers began to leave. The same two girls again started to fight, which is when Garcia and the victim also began fighting, police said. Garcia then reportedly stabbed the girl and fled the area.
The victim was listed in stable condition at Watsonville Community Hospital after being treated for her injuries.
Witness cooperation and the use of high school yearbooks helped police to identify Garcia as the suspect. On June 11, police issued a warrant for her arrest for assault with a deadly weapon, but were initially unable to locate her. Law enforcement officials found Garcia at her home Tuesday and took her into custody.
