Over the last 45 years, feminists have stated that women are paid less than their male counterparts in the workforce. Intensive scientific research involving the calculation of annual wages and hours worked have proved that the feminist accusation is indeed fallacious and untrue. The following is a detailed report which explains why the feminist theory is fallacious and unsubstantiated:
- Equal Pay Laws Are In Existence
- Feminist Statistics Are Fraudulent, Unsubstantiated and Not Scientifically Proved
Equal Pay Law Act
Equal Pay Law Acts were introduced as early as 1963. These law acts were introduced due to the feminist claim that female employees were paid less than their male counterparts. Other Equal Pay Law Acts have been passed via legislation since 1963, and there are agencies that offer protection to any employee who is a victim of unfair pay.
Feminist Statistics Are Fraudulent, Unsubstantiated and Not Scientifically Proved
The method that feminists use to collect their data compares employees from different industries which means:
- The employees from the differing industries possess a differing amount of qualifications and are performing different work, and working different hours; therefore they are NOT performing the same work and as a result their wages cannot be compared to each other.
Equal Pay issues can only exist if two employees within the same industry and rank who are working the same amount of hours to each other are paid a differing amount to each other. It’s impossible to compare two employees from different industries and claim one is being discriminated against on a financial level.
Men vs Women: Comparison of Pay Between The Sexes
When comparing male and female employees who work within the same field, there are times when the women are able to earn more than the men. The only reason this doesn't happen all that often is because women choose to work within the fields that are less hazardous and less physically demanding jobs, and work fewer hours than men.
This has a huge impact on the average amount of money that is earned by men and women. A person who works 44 hours a week will earn nearly twice as much as a person who works 34 hours per week. Males on average work at least 3 hours more per work than their female counterparents. This alone is responsible for 70% of the wage gap. Males also dominate 24 of the top 25 most hazardous and dangerous industries, which is why 93% of employees who die during work happen to be men.
These industries tend to pay high wages to attract employees as they are dangerous and will deteriorate the physical health of the employee. This is another reason why the men of the Western world tend to live at least 5-7 years less than women. Compare that to central Africa, where the males tend to live longer than females, as they tend to perform a lesser amount of physically demanding work.
The engineering and computer science fields that require qualification in physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics are dominated by males. These fields are among the highest paying fields in the workforce. To gain promotion in such a field, an employee must remain with a company for a long period of time and work long hours. Females tend to work a lesser amount of hours per week than their male colleagues, and usually exit the workforce during their 30’s so they can start a family. Therefore females do not obtain any where as much experience and qualification as their male colleagues, which is why the promotions are usually given to the men.
There are over 90 fields in which females earn more than males. In fact in the 35 large fields were females earn more than males, the females earn more than 5% on average than their male colleagues. Females who work part-time tend to earn 110% more than the males who perform the same amount of hours.
